I discovered this Atlanta treasure after arriving at the ATL airport. My friend had picked me up and we had a short road-trip ahead of us so we stopped in to grab some caffeine. As a caffeine addict I will tell you, that tho I do enjoy a good cup of coffee, I take anything I can get when desperate. This was the first place that popped up on google for “coffee in Atlanta” and it exceeded my expectations.
My first impressions:
- lots of space
- upbeat environment
- smelled great
There was quite a crowd when we walked in, but it didn’t feel too overwhelming as there are lots of seating options inside and out. Octane’s coffee selection is what you would expect (espresso, pour-overs, etc.), but the actual product is phenomenal. We both decided on the iced Chai Latte.
(Here we are looking quite excited about our drinks.)
In my opinion, you can tell a lot about a cafe by their Chai Latte’s. Traditionally, Chai is tea leaves mixed with a variety of Indian spices (cardamom, ginger, etc.), and from my time working in a tea shop, I know it takes a lot of effort to make the perfect ‘spicy but sweet’ blend. With that being said, not a lot of cafes take the time to hand mix their tea and for that I admire Octane. It is clear that they value quality control.
Aside from their delicious coffee/tea drinks they offer a selection of baked goods from “Little Tart Bakeshop” as well as a small selection of beer and cocktails (they even had Bell’s Brewing available which gave them bonus points in my book.)
Octane is the place to be if you’re looking for a quality crafted drink, and for your convenience, they have multiple locations through out the city. Don’t forget to stop in next time you’re in Atlanta!
