Asheville, North Carolina is a craft beer drinker’s paradise. There are 25+ breweries in the Downtown Asheville area alone. The choices can be overwhelming – there are unique experimental breweries like Wicked Weed Funkatorium as well as popular national breweries like New Belgium. So, where to start?

To make planning easy, below is a comprehensive list of the breweries in and around Downtown Asheville including location, specialty, vibe, and food.

My personal favorite beer in Asheville! @PhillyGingerBeerDude agrees. Burial Beer Co. screams creativity with their bold and balanced flavors, high-quality production, and unique artwork.

Specialty: Burial prides themselves on “resurrecting” old styles to create modern artisan ales with depth and complex flavors.

Vibe: A unique space inspired by pop-culture horror. Order from the bar situated inside of an old Texas Chainsaw Massacre-esque barn and enjoy your beer in the garden with a view of a giant mural of Tom Selleck and Sloth from The Goonies.

Vibe: Stop at their open-air taproom for a post-hike brew and snack! Situated a short drive from the Pisgah National Forest, Oskar Blues caters to the thriving outdoor community in the area. Beautiful views and delicious classic flavors.
